Ohana's Earn & Learn Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP) Participants receive Free Nurse Aide Training and earn wages while attending class. Work as a Nurse Aide will commence following completion of NATP. Great opportunity to explore careers in post-acute care.
Free Course Instruction with Full-time or Part-Time Employment
Course schedule will commence January 2026 (anticipate 2-3 days per week)
Duration: 100 hours, in-person instruction
Course instruction provided by State approved Nurse Aide Training Program
Work as a Nurse Aide will commence following program completion at Hale Makua Kahului
Final step will include Prometric Exam to obtain Certified Nurse Aide status
The Position Nurse Aides/CNAs are the primary caregivers in post-acute and long-term care settings, providing nursing care and services for residents, that include personal and restorative care and activities of daily living.
Ohana Nurse Aides (NA/CNA) orient new residents to the unit and facility: Call system, bathroom, shower schedule, and common areas; introduces to residents; informs of meal schedule, snack times, and activities calendar.
Nurse Aides (NA/CNA) respond to resident calls, call bells, call lights, and alarms immediately. Responds to family requests. Informs Charge Nurse when required.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent / Minimum age of 18
Completion of Hawaii Nurse Aide Training Program.
Scheduled Prometric exam within 120 days of hire.
Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
