About The Team
DoorDash is a data driven organization and relies on timely, accurate and reliable data to drive many business and product decisions. The Core Data Platform org owns all the infrastructure necessary to run an operationally efficient analytical data stack. The Data Mobility Frameworks team within the core data platform aims to provide a scalable and reliable compute framework layer capable of processing trillions of data points per day. This framework is essential for enabling timely business‑critical decision‑making, facilitating rapid experimentation, and supporting the training and deployment of ML/AI models for real‑time personalization.
About the Data Mobility Framework Team
The Data Mobility Framework team builds simplified, integrated abstractions over analytical engines such as Apache Spark, Flink and Airflow for data engineers, product teams, machine learning engineers and analysts. The focus extends to enhancing the developer experience by creating tools that support the organization's high‑velocity demands.

You will report into the Engineering Manager on our Data Mobility Frameworks team.

Drive vision & strategy for building the frameworks charter and position it to handle the challenges of a rapidly growing business.

We’re Excited About You Because…
B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent.
2+ years of industry experience.
Prior experience in Systems Engineering—you've built meaningful big data processing systems at scale, and have experience with big data compute engines such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
Familiarity with Datalakes and table formats such as Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg.
Familiarity with a cloud‑based environment such as AWS.
Professional experience with at least one of the programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python or Go; good knowledge of SQL.
You are located or willing to relocate to the Bay Area or Seattle.
Compensation The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job‑related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market‑dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

Paid Time Off Details
For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked; paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
Salary Range
I4: $130,600—$192,000 USD
I5: $159,800—$235,000 USD
I6: $193,800—$285,000 USD
