Under executive direction, this position is responsible for the senior‑level leadership of all business operations for the assigned group and/or business unit. The ideal candidate is proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, and has a history of successful fiscal control and management experience.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training.
Experience: 8 years of project management experience.
Travel: 25‑50%.
Work Schedule: Typical hours 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday; work may be performed at any time to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
As a member of the Strategic Planning Leadership group, engage in the creation and consideration of initiatives, plans and programs for the improvement of the organization.
Lead the execution of strategic initiatives for the assigned group and/or business unit.
Talent Development:
Participate or lead the interview and selection process for roles directly reporting to the Vice President, or other identified leadership roles.
Provide advice, guidance, and direction to direct reports, creating opportunities and the greatest probability of individual and team success.
Foster a productive and enthusiastic team through coaching, goal setting, and ongoing talent and performance assessment. Delegate appropriately and follow up effectively.
Strategically identify individuals for advancement, particularly for succession planning, and invest necessary time to coach and develop successors.
Align Group Leaders and Project Managers with roles for which they are well‑suited and have the highest probability of success.
Fiscal and Administrative Accountability:
Accurately budget and manage sales and gross margin consistent with established needs and standards. Focus on growth company‑wide and nationally. Participate in establishing and achieving financial objectives for all operations in scope of authority.
For the assigned business unit and/or groups, review and approve budgets; review and interpret various financial reports; effectively apply financial information and company policy to decision making.
Conduct and direct all business operations under assignment in a manner consistent with company policy and core values.
Operational Effectiveness for assigned Business Unit and/or Group(s):
Ensure successful implementation and execution of operational activities to maximize resources, manage processes, and pursue efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Collaborate with other business units and/or departments to provide effective oversight to assigned projects and ensure customer satisfaction.
Stay abreast of relevant technical, operational, and professional developments related to the business unit.
Plan, staff, and supervise all assigned corporate activities through direct reports; promote collaboration and integration of resources from various business units, profit centers, and departments to advance company initiatives.
Business Development:
Participate in identifying business development goals related to growth in revenue and profit.
Represent the Company as a senior leader in the management of customer relationships.
Represent the Company at community and industry events as appropriate.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
