Senior Platform Engineer
Location: Mclean, Virginia. Job Description:
Serve as a Senior Platform Engineer
Design, deploy, maintain, and secure platform infrastructure.
Support data integration efforts
Build, maintain, and optimize underlying infrastructure to support Artificial Intelligence workloads.
Qualifications:
Cluster Management: Extensive experience with Kubernetes clusters to include: o Designing, deploying, securing, maintaining, upgrading highly available and scalable (e.g., EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, or self-managed), including the control plane components, worker nodes, and their interactions.
Containerization & Orchestration: Proficient with Docker and containerization best practices.
Networking: Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts.
Security: Expertise in securing Kubernetes environments and network security.
Performance & Optimization: Optimize resources and implement best practices for cluster tuning.
CI/CD Tooling: Hands-on experience with popular CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
Experience with Helm charts and customize for Kubernetes application packaging and deployment.
Automation Scripting: Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
Linux/Unix: Background in Linux, including networking, file systems, and process management.
Relevant certifications such as: CKA, CKAD, CKS, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
Experience with Kubernetes operators, custom resource definitions (CRDs).
Building internal developer platforms (IDPs).
Travel up to 20% of the time, as required, to perform on-site installations, maintenance.
Have current IAM Level II to satisfy DOD 8570 IAT requirements Active DoD TS/SCI with a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CIP) Clearance.
