Physician Assistant Lead, Otolaryngology – MEE
Mass General Brigham, a not‑for‑profit organization dedicated to patient care, research, teaching and community service, is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) Lead to work in the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEE) Otolaryngology department.
Job Summary The PA Lead assesses and manages patients in medical and surgical settings, performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, develops care plans, and conducts ongoing evaluations. The role also includes indirect leadership over advanced practice providers and allied health professionals.
Essential Functions
Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings.
Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
Develops appropriate plans of care and follow‑up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
Orders medications and writes prescriptions in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies.
Consistently provides high‑quality, timely documentation—including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
Performs bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population.
Indicates additional duties such as indirect management of staff, staffing and scheduling support, daily clinical problem‑solving, onboarding, metric tracking, and participation in appraisals, staff development, and hiring/termination decisions.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant (required).
Licenses: Valid state PA license.
Experience: 4–6 years as a Physician Assistant (required).
Skills: Clinical practice, written and verbal communication with colleagues, patients and the public, coaching and development of others, initiative, problem‑solving and decision‑making in emergency situations, composure in difficult circumstances.

Compensation Pay Range: $127,691.20 – $186,544.80 per year (annual)
