Manager/Senior Manager, US Communications Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

BSA is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager, US Communications, to join its global public affairs team. This person will play a hands‑on role in multiple communications activities on behalf of BSA and its members on issues such as AI, cybersecurity, privacy, and digital trade.

This position presents an opportunity to join a fast‑moving and dynamic team working on behalf of companies that are leaders in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, quantum, and other breakthrough technologies. In this role, the person will play a direct or supporting role in engaging media to secure coverage, creating compelling content to highlight the work of BSA, elevating BSA members’ issues and impact in Washington, DC and state capitals, and working collaboratively with colleagues in the United States and around the world on fast‑moving issues.

The best candidates for this role will demonstrate a growth‑oriented mindset and the willingness and ability to work with efficiency at growing BSA’s public affairs and policy work.

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

Experience identifying reporters likely to cover relevant topics, cultivating relationships with media, and successfully securing positive coverage for internal or external clients.

Enthusiastic user of AI tools! BSA represents leaders in the development of artificial intelligence, and the candidate should be a savvy and discerning user of AI tools to support public affairs activity.

Familiarity with PR tracking and distribution tools like Cision, Meltwater, etc.

Familiarity with digital publishing tools and in building and distributing compelling email marketing messages including newsletters and event invitations using tools such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, etc. Ability to strategically manage marketing segments for use in cross‑promotional purposes.

Ability to produce and edit short‑form video content for use on BSA digital platforms preferred.

Adaptable, collegial, and enthusiastic team player who is dedicated to BSA’s positive culture and is constantly striving to create value and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively within BSA’s Global Public Affairs team to execute tactics to support media relations, promotional content creation, email marketing, and social media promotion.

Oversee media monitoring and rapid response efforts, including writing, editing, posting, and distributing press releases and other relevant materials. Build relationships with reporters directly as directed by the VP, Global Public Affairs for purpose of securing coverage.

Create compelling content including blog posts, video interviews, graphics, research, and reports to promote BSA policy priorities and highlight member company personnel and priorities.

Provide excellent customer service to BSA member company personnel and build constructive relationships across the association membership and staff.

Support execution of BSA events, including onsite support for member‑facing and external‑facing gatherings based in Washington, DC.
