Position Overview As we continue to expand, we are seeking a

hands‑on, highly organized, and detail‑driven Director of Product Development & Merchandising Operations

to manage the full lifecycle of our apparel and accessories—from concept through delivery—ensuring every product meets brand standards, margin goals, and on‑time delivery expectations. This role is ideal for a seasoned product developer who thrives on organization, precision, and collaboration. The Director will oversee the day‑to‑day execution of our seasonal product calendar, manage vendor relationships across multiple countries, track inventory flow, and ensure operational alignment between design, production, and sales.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all stages of product development: design handoff, tech pack creation, sampling, fit approvals, and production tracking.

Manage vendor communication and production calendars across global factories.

Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and delivery timelines to meet margin and lead‑time goals.

Ensure quality, consistency, and compliance across all product categories.

Project Management & Process Execution

Own the seasonal development calendar and ensure all milestones are met on schedule.

Maintain detailed product trackers for style status, costs, and delivery dates.

Coordinate cross‑functionally between design, operations, marketing, and finance.

Anticipate roadblocks and proactively problem‑solve production or delivery delays.

Merchandising Operations & Inventory Planning

Partner with leadership to build seasonal line plans and SKU forecasts.

Manage inventory flow and reorders, ensuring optimal stock levels across channels.

Analyze sales and inventory data to inform future buys and product decisions.

Align with finance on costing, landed cost tracking, and margin performance.

Qualifications

7–10 years of experience in product development or production within the apparel industry.

Proven success managing multiple vendors and product categories end‑to‑end.

Strong understanding of apparel construction, materials, and production timelines.

Excellent project management and organizational skills—thrives on structure and follow‑through.

Experience with inventory planning and working closely with finance or planning teams.

Comfortable managing timelines, data, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Must live in Austin, TX.
