Delivery Consultant – Application Modernization, AWS Professional Services Overview

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled Delivery Consultant – Application Modernization. In this role you will work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives, driving customer success through their cloud journey.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs.

Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective migration strategies.

Act as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts.

About the Team The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We work together with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of architecting or operating solutions on a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, etc.).

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.

3+ years of delivering application architecture/design/modernization projects, including cloud-based solutioning with AI and automation.

3+ years experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Professional level certification or higher degree.

Proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation).

Experience with automation and scripting tools such as Terraform or Python.

Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Experience delivering large‑scale software development and modernization initiatives.

Proven ability to apply software engineering best practices across testing, source control, code reviews, and deployment/release management processes.
