Enrollment Services at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as an Admissions Counselor. Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. Morehead State University is recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report. Responsibilities
The Admissions Counselor represents Morehead State University by performing all significant recruiting and admissions functions necessary for the university to successfully accomplish its educational business and serve the admissions needs of the university. Responsibilities include: Planning, organizing, and executing recruitment and enrollment services activities. Disseminating various University applications, brochures, and other recruiting materials. Effectively communicating and counseling prospective students and their families on financial aid principles and best practices for funding a college education. This position encourages qualified prospective students to apply and enroll. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High energy level and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others. Experience with computer applications. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred. Admissions, student services, public relations, marketing or related background preferred. Sponsorship

The Admissions Counselor works with a minimum level of supervision. The position will often involve a highly stressful environment. The person holding this position must become familiar with all aspects of the campus community and must have the ability to make independent decisions while knowing when supervisory assistance is required.
