Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications Position Summary:
This position is based in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and will act as a major gift officer for the college. Its purpose is to raise major gifts to support the Franklin College and the University of Georgia. This position will focus on gifts of $50,000 or more and will maintain a robust portfolio of current and prospective donors who can make a meaningful philanthropic investment in the College. This position will work collaboratively with all departments and institutes of the college as well as a wide variety of constituents. An established track record in building meaningful relationships coupled with the ability to close philanthropic gifts are essential components of the position. This role will work closely with other major and principal gift officers within the College and across the University to advance gift solicitation strategies. All work will be carried out in accordance with UGA Foundation policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
Ability to write and speak with clarity and conviction.
Outstanding people skills are central.
Familiarity with Office and basic database usage.
Physical Demands:
Working at computer/desk for periods of time.
Some minor lifting.
Driving as needed to complete job tasks.

Duties/Responsibilities
Develop and manage a portfolio of Franklin College major gift prospects.
Conduct qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship visits in Georgia and across the nation, with a target of 10-12 significant visits per month.
Possibility of several overnight trips.
Percentage of time:

Complete necessary preparation and follow up for each visit.
Document visits in GAIL alumni/donor database with complete contact reports.

Prepare timely, accurate, relevant, clear, concise, and compelling proposals to secure major gifts ($50,000+) in support of Franklin College priorities.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the following areas of Franklin College: Lamar Dodd School of Art, Philosophy, Classics, English, Linguistics, Religion, Germanic and Slavic Studies, Comparative Literature and Romance Languages.
Lead the strategic development vision for prospects in this area and attend prospect strategy meetings; coordinate with UGA Foundation Relations.
Attend University Development staff meetings and trainings; collaborate with faculty and staff across campus.
