Accountant II – Noble Credit Union Under general supervision, perform accounting support duties in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and statistical reporting. Assist the Accounting Supervisor and Controller with the accounting and financial activities for the Credit Union.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries, accounts payable invoices, checks, financial statements, monthly reports, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and other financial records.

Analyze and post journal entries, assign accounting classifications, and correct discrepancies as necessary.

Receive and code invoices, obtain approvals, process payments, prepare transmittal documents, and investigate vendor questions.

Balance member share and loan balances in the general ledger, reconcile ledger accounts and bank statements.

Utilize technology and automation to extract general ledger information and import third‑party data, ensuring correct formatting before posting.

Assist in preparing financial statements and external reporting.

Help evaluate and enhance accounting processes, procedures, and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Assist in preparing investment reports and monitoring liquidity levels for the VP Treasurer.

Ensure compliance with GAAP in all credit union financial functions.

Exercise awareness of suspicious activity, money laundering, or fraud, document behavior for SAR filings.

Maintain compliance with BSA, AML, OFAC, branch security, safety, and related programs.

Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a four‑year college/university, or 2–4 years of related experience/training.

Knowledge of GAAP and preferred experience in a financial institution.

Work Arrangement This position allows for hybrid work, which typically includes a combination of in-office and remote workdays each week. Hybrid arrangements are subject to change based on business needs; employees may be required to report to the office as necessary.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
