They’re seeking a hands‑on Controller to lead accounting operations, manage a small but skilled team, and provide strategic financial insights to firm leadership. What You’ll Be Doing

Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, project accounting, and budgeting.

Lead and mentor a small accounting team (AP/Payroll Specialist and Project Accountant), ensuring cross‑training and skill development.

Manage monthly and annual close processes, prepare journal entries, and deliver financial reports and KPI analysis to leadership.

Coordinate preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for firm departments and projects.

Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and weekly cash‑flow forecasting.

Administer payroll, employee expense reporting, and account reconciliations.

Partner with external tax consultants for annual filings and assist with insurance renewals and fixed‑asset tracking.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.

Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports to support executive decision‑making.

What They’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership and full‑cycle accounting.

Prior experience in professional services, architecture, engineering, or construction industries preferred.

Expertise in project accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Strong command of Excel and ERP systems (Deltek VantagePoint experience a plus).

Proven ability to communicate financial information clearly and collaborate cross‑functionally.

Analytical, organized, and proactive problem‑solver with a “hands‑on” approach.
