Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to lead HR operations at our McIntosh manufacturing site in Binghamton, NY while also providing strategic HR support across our North American commercial operations, including our Maple Grove, MN location.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Support & Relations: Serve as the first line of support for employees, responding to general inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and leave programs. This includes supporting managers and employees through performance management, coaching, and corrective action, partnering with the Global ER on complex issues as appropriate. Conduct exit interviews as needed and assist with termination and off-boarding procedures.
Talent Acquisition & Management: Proactively support managers in Talent Acquisition and partner with the Global Talent Acquisition team to coordinate recruitment strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational needs. Coordinate all new employees’ onboarding procedures, including conducting new hire orientations and serving as the main point of contact for new hires. Cultivate a high-performance culture and work with managers for coaching, setting clear expectations, direct two-way feedback, driving accountability.
Employee Lifecycle Operations: Facilitate the annual performance review process by providing guidance on tools and training and supporting managers with goal-setting and performance management. Support Global compensation processes, including annual planning and job benchmarking. Administer all employee leave of absence activities in partnership with the HR Specialist. Manage all communications with employees on leave and their supervisors. Conduct Open Enrollment Meetings and other benefit communication sessions.
HR Compliance: Counsel team leaders and staff on organizational policies and US federal and state regulations, like FMLA and anti-harassment. Maintain employee confidence and protect HR operations by keeping all information confidential. Assist in gathering and preparing HR data for analysis and reporting requirements. Investigate workplace accidents and prepare reports for insurance purposes. Maintain local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and a local handbook addendum.
Change Management: Support the business through organizational changes, such as leadership changes, system and/or organizational changes as well as enterprise-wide changes such as policy or tool roll outs, by managing the people-related and communication aspects of these changes.
Communication & Collaboration: Maintain professional and positive communication, offering solutions when interacting with all levels within the company. Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, ensuring all interactions are clear, respectful, and constructive.
Project & Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and coordination of company events, initiatives, programs, and special projects.
HR Projects: Lead or participate in HR initiatives and projects aimed at improving HR processes, enhancing employee engagement, and driving organizational change.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including site-based and regional/multi-location responsibility.
Proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust and influence across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated experience in employee relations, talent management, and organizational development.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
Compensation The compensation range for this role is $88,400 - $121,600.
