Principal / Sr Principal Price Cost Analyst – Northrop Grumman

We are seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Price/Cost Analyst to support the Pricing and Cost Estimating organization at any Northrop Grumman facility nationwide (remote or hybrid schedules considered). The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter expert for price and cost analysis, communicating effectively at the highest levels and performing with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
Evaluate supplier proposals for compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15 Table 15‑2 and prepare written supplier Price/Cost Analysis Reports (PCARs).
Participate in fact‑finding sessions via telecom or at supplier sites.
Request and obtain DCMA Assist audits where applicable.
Establish supplier proposed vs. evaluated positions by major element of cost.
May participate in supplier negotiations.
Maintain all records and supporting data used and provided in support of proposals.
Conduct market research, analyze historical data, and develop cost estimating models and factors to evaluate price reasonableness.
Support GSC pricing and estimating activities during the proposal phase.
Perform cost estimating/pricing duties and analysis in accordance with recognized industry best practices and USG regulatory requirements.
Serve as the principal liaison between the Pricing Cost Estimating Group and other functional departments.
Review NG material estimates and consolidated priced bill of material for adequacy before incorporation into the NG cost volume.
Review Buyer/Subcontract Administrator completed price analyses for customer submission adequacy.
Support Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) proposal and estimating system audits.
Review current processes, procedures, work instructions, and tools and recommend improvements.
Conduct or support training activities.
Basic Qualifications Principal Price Cost Analyst (9‑12 years experience)
Minimum of 9 years of related experience (or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience; or a master’s degree with 3 years of experience).
Experience in price/cost analysis, subcontract/supply chain administration, pricing & estimating, proposal development, or accounting/finance.
In‑depth understanding of estimating and procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
Previous experience with FAR, DFARS, and other U.S. federal contracting regulations.
Team‑orientation and ability to work well in team environments.
Experience in capture and proposal activities in a government acquisition environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and apply sound judgment to problem solving.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Sr Principal Price Cost Analyst (12‑15 years experience)
Minimum of 12 years of related experience (or a bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience; or a master’s degree with 6 years of experience).
Experience in price/cost analysis, subcontract/supply chain administration, pricing & estimating, proposal development, or accounting/finance.
In‑depth understanding of estimating and procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
Previous experience with FAR, DFARS, and other U.S. federal contracting regulations.
Team‑orientation and ability to work well in team environments.
Experience in capture and proposal activities in a government acquisition environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and apply sound judgment to problem solving.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of SAP.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Familiarity with Cost Improvement Curves, Cost Accounting Standards, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
Experience with template and tools development.
Ability to meet deadlines in a challenging, multi‑tasking environment while maintaining compliance during all stages of the proposal/acquisition process.
Experience with software or web development.
Salary Range Primary Level: $82,900.00 – $124,300.00
Secondary Level: $103,200.00 – $154,800.00
Benefits Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
