Location: Century City, Los Angeles, CA. 5 days onsite for the first 90 days, then 4 days onsite and 1 day remote thereafter.
Essential Duties
Prepare and file new trademark applications and respond to office actions, statements of use, and deadlines with the USPTO.
Manage the complete life‑cycle of copyright applications, including correspondence with the Copyright Office.
Facilitate domestic and international patent prosecution, including application preparation and coordination with foreign counsel.
Support trademark litigation matters by preparing and filing proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Monitor all deadlines and keep accurate records.
Respond to client inquiries by phone or email.
Drafig assignment agreements and manage recording of assignments, changes of ownership, and security agreements with the USPTO and Copyright Office.
Coordinate Madrid Protocol filings and direct foreign counsel on international trademark prosecution.
Prepare enforcement due‑diligence documents, such as cease‑and‑desist letters, coexistence agreements, and settlement agreements.
Research and investigate potential third‑party trademark conflicts.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of experience as an IP paralegal in a law firm.
Four‑year college degree or equivalent.
ABA‑approved paralegal certification required.
Compensation Annual base salary ranges from $90,000 to $140,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Paralegals meeting the firm’s performance standards (≥1,200 billable hours) may receive a discretionary bonus that can bring total compensation to $100,000–$180,000.
