Leidos is seeking an experienced
M365 Exchange Online Administrator
(cloud) to join our Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in managing and optimizing Exchange Online environments within GCC tenants, focusing on governance, security, compliance, and enhancing communication capabilities in a federal agency context. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align Exchange Online services with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight of Exchange Online Environment:
Lead the management and optimization of the Exchange Online environment to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient email communication across the organization.
Governance and Compliance Management:
Develop and enforce policies for email retention, sensitivity labeling, and classification to comply with federal regulations and organizational standards. Oversee the implementation of email-related security measures, including threat protection, to safeguard against evolving cyber threats and ensure compliance with federal security standards.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align Exchange Online capabilities with organizational needs, driving improvements in email management, security, and user productivity. Stay current with updates and advancements in Exchange Online and related Microsoft 365 technologies, proactively implementing enhancements to improve service delivery and support organizational objectives. Utilize innovative tools and features, such as Copilot, to enhance email management practices.
Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
Oversee the monitoring of email flow, usage patterns, and service health to proactively identify issues and opportunities for optimization. Ensure comprehensive documentation of system configurations, policies, procedures, and service records to support auditing, compliance, and future planning.
Leadership and Mentorship:
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team. Act as a subject matter expert in Exchange Online administration, particularly in a federal agency context, to support strategic initiatives and organizational growth.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in M365 administration.
Strong understanding of M365 security and compliance capabilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Working experience with a federal agency is highly desired.
Required Certifications
Possess one or more Microsoft 365 certifications, e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, Enterprise Administrator Expert, Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
Desired Skills
Expertise in managing M365 B2B collaboration and establishing trust relationships among multiple federal agencies.
Experience with Multi-Tenant Organization (MTO).
Proficiency in managing guest user access and secure external sharing within Exchange Online, ensuring secure and compliant communication.
Familiarity with Entra ID B2B settings and Conditional Access policies for secure collaboration across organizations.
Strong understanding of data governance and lifecycle management in a multi-tenant environment.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Zendesk.
