Network Engineer II – CareDx, Inc.

The Network Engineer II will support our global IT infrastructure across North America, Europe, and Australia, ensuring high availability and 24/7 performance for our laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and support on‑premise and cloud network infrastructures, ensuring performance, scalability, and resiliency.
Implement, support, and monitor gateways, switches, firewalls, IPSec VPN tunnels, wireless access points, and IDS/IPS devices for stability and compliance.
Analyze network traffic across LAN/WAN/SD‑WAN to diagnose and resolve issues, increasing network efficiency.
Contribute to network technology decisions and research emerging solutions to enhance security and performance.
Maintain detailed documentation of network components and security protocols, ensuring compliance and a clear change‑management process.
Continuously review and improve internal network security practices, tracking key metrics.
Serve as primary escalation point during outages, communicating effectively to minimize downtime.
Lead key projects from planning through execution, impacting technical roadmap and scalability goals.
Provide after‑hours and weekend support for critical network issues.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred.
5+ years of networking experience with server and desktop technologies.
Proficiency with firewalls (Fortinet preferred), SD‑WAN, wireless networking and AAA services.
In‑depth knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, VPN, L2 switching, VLANs, EtherChannel and 802.1Q.
Experience with cloud networking in Azure, AWS or similar environments.
Expertise in high‑availability, performance‑driven networking environments.
Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure (on‑premise, private and public cloud).
Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Atlassian.
Salary and Benefits Base salary range: $90,000 – $120,000 USD (location dependent). In addition to competitive base pay, CareDx offers incentive compensation, health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) match, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, pre‑tax commuter benefits, and a generous Living Donor Employee Recovery Policy.
