Our Paralegal plays a key role in supporting the legal team by reviewing leases and related documents to ensure company standards and deadlines are met, while helping mitigate risk across the business.

This role is not just about document review it’s about enabling smooth operations, supporting corporate attorneys on a variety of legal matters, and helping the company make informed, compliant decisions. You’ll collaborate with business leaders, operations teams, and legal colleagues to provide guidance, assist on projects, and ensure Claire’s operates efficiently and responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and negotiate leases, amendments, omnibus agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with company guidelines.

Negotiate template lease provisions to align with approved company standards.

Prepare legal documents for execution and track the status of outstanding documents.

Complete lease abstracts for all new lease documents and maintain tracking reports for lease review and daily workflow.

Draft legal notices and correspondence related to leases and other legal matters, including termination notices, co-tenancy notices, and default responses.

Prepare and review Estoppel Certificates and Subordination, Non-Disturbance, and Attornment (SNDA) Agreements for execution by company officers.

Notarize lease documents and other corporate documents as required.

Resolve field and operational concerns related to landlord/tenant issues and lease compliance.

Monitor landlord default notices and track resolution progress.

Develop strong partnerships and maintain communication with corporate departments to share lease-related information and interpret lease terms and clauses.

Provide general assistance to corporate attorneys, including legal research, litigation support, and other assigned legal matters.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.

Experience: 3–5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a retail environment.

Skills and Abilities

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Notary Public designation.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and DocuSign.

Compensation Range: $82,446.00 - $109,928.00

Claire’s is committed to adhering to all applicable company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations. All positions will be compensated at or above the legally mandated minimum wage for the location in which work is performed. The final compensation will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
