Responsibilities GENERAL PURPOSE: Assist manufacturing in maintaining required quality standards by performing quality inspections throughout a job run as well as by performing final inspections on specified product, including verifying weight counts and completing daily reports and machine inspections. Ensure compliance with federal, state, company policies & safety rules. Assist manufacturing in maintaining the required quality standards through ongoing inspection. Audit all operator processes against Standard Operating Procedures. Verify product integrity to job specifications – structure, color, size, layout, etc. using a variety of tools, measurements, and methods. Identify suspect product by completing and placing a hold tag on the load. Read and understand the combo and job tickets for quantities, selection numbers, size specifications, or other specifications before beginning the job. Report any questions or problems to the Quality Assurance Manager. Collect and visually inspect customer samples for color variance, size, and cosmetic defects before forwarding to sample area for processing. Release jobs to the shipping department as needed. Complete required job and weight count reports daily. Perform final inspections for specified customers. Weigh jobs for count verification. Perform other job duties as assigned. Qualifications Stand on feet up to 12 hours a day. Ability to read and write instructions and correspondence. Use hands for simple and power grasping as well as push and pull. Use a hand operated pallet jack to move pallets of material. Attention to fine detail with printing, cutting and gluer issues. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must pass color vision test. Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
