Job Summary
We are looking for a Network Engineer with a strong LAN/Access Network background for a direct hire opportunity in San Antonio, TX.

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning: Plan and coordinate the future state of networks for clients, designing solutions that align with the organization’s vision and strategy.
System Engineering: Analyze network configurations for critical corporate resources, evaluate changes, provide recommendations to improve performance and efficiency, and prevent unplanned disruptions.
System Integration: Integrate network components and subsystems, assess availability, install, configure, and verify operation, and lead or participate in cross-system projects.
System Management: Design and implement proactive processes to collect data, report on network health, ensure systems are current, coordinate vendor support, and provide training.
Training & Certification: Maintain in‑depth knowledge and current certifications in internetworking technologies.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field (8 years experience or equivalent).
Extensive technical knowledge of LAN and Access Networks, including routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, iBGP, OSPF) and LAN redundancy (HSRP, CSM).
Advanced knowledge in LAN protocol management, address management, and network protocols.
Experience with at least one of the following: Aruba/Cisco routers, switches, WLAN technologies; Firewalls/IPS; SD‑WAN; F5 hardware/software; WAN optimizers; Cisco/Avaya VoIP.
Knowledge of networking on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, VMware) and OS fundamentals.
Minimum 8 years of experience in large corporate system environments and 5 years in network engineering for LAN/WLAN/WAN.
Preferred certifications: Cisco & Aruba, Ekahau, Air Magnet.
Prior experience in a healthcare systems environment is a plus.
