Overview Alcohol, Drug and Tobacco Chemical Dependency services – Office registering, scheduling utilizing electronic computer operations, performing related processing duties for all clients serviced by Mercy REACH programming.

Essential Functions

Completion of registration, scheduling in electronic medical records, and related processing duties for all clients in coordinating services with therapists, physician offices, occupational companies, legal/court departments, and hospital ancillary areas.

Provide insurance verification, cashier, registration, financial assistance information/assistance, reconciliation of visit activities, accurate posting of charges, and related clerical support duties.

Provide information regarding self determination to clients and/or significant others; document any existing advance directive and obtain proper releases.

Verify entry of data into the practice management system to ensure availability of information for healthcare professionals and maximum reimbursement.

Collect co‑pays and payments from clients, using appropriate communication skills to explain policy while being sensitive to client concerns; upon interview completion, express appreciation for the client visit.

Complete daily case balancing sheet and payment control log and process per current policy.

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications Required Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Specialty/Major:

Clerical, medical office experience.

Preferred Education:

2‑Year/Associate’s Degree.

Specialty/Major:

Clerical, medical office, chemical dependency/mental health clerical experience.
