Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159‑bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai‘i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai‘i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

The Straub Doctors On Call program provides quality health care in Waikiki to both residents and visitors. We offer a broad range of non‑emergency medical care at two locations in Waikiki: the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Sheraton, including 24‑hour physician services, laboratory and X‑ray imaging. In addition, Doctors On Call offers a full spectrum of occupational health services such as physical examinations, drug tests, worker’s compensation care and immunizations. Our physicians are assisted by a full staff of nurses, accredited technicians and patient service representatives who are fluent in Japanese and English.

Responsibilities

Serve as a nursing assistant, performing routine tasks ranging from monitoring supplies to administering health care to patients of all ages.

Support departmental staff, including nurses, technicians, and patient service representatives.

Assist in maintaining a fast‑paced clinical environment and contribute to a healthier Hawai‘i.

Work Schedule Day/Evening – 10 Hours per day, Full‑time Regular, FTE 1.000000. Bargaining Unit: ILWU. Exempt: No. Req ID: 31030.

Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $23.05 – $24.26 USD per hour. Category: Medical Support Staff. Hawaii Pacific Health offers a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that includes pay and benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

Nurse aide or medical assistant certificate showing successful completion of courses for a nurse assistant or medical assistant training program.

Completion of a fundamentals course from an accredited school of Nursing (name of nursing school and completion of fundamentals course).

Military Corpsman certificate; EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or MICT (Mobile Intensive Care Technician) certificate.

A Registered Nurse/Medical Doctor license or graduate certificate from a college in a foreign country.

Current American Heart Association Heart Saver – AED CPR card.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of medical terminology course.
