Sanitation Clerk Night

– Shift: 9 PM – 5:30 AM. Starting pay $20.25/hour plus $1.25/night shift differential.

Maintains plant’s food contact surfaces and non‑food contact surfaces in pristine and optimum conditions throughout the shift. Executes the company’s GMP program and strictly abides by its policies under the direction of Quality Assurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists in the execution of the company’s general manufacturing practices (GMP) policies and procedures.

Assists in the execution of all sanitation standard operational procedures (SSOPs).

Assists quality assurance in the implementation and execution of HACCP.

Performs correct dilution ratios of all cleaning chemicals; ensures that all chemicals are locked and secured.

Responsible for safety of self and peers; always executes the lock‑out/tag‑out program.

Ensures that correct safety gear is worn; if personnel fail to wear gear, reports deviation.

Assists QA and sanitation manager in executing the correct pre‑operational inspection and having the plant ready for USDA inspection in time.

Works closely with sanitation leadership, production associates, and QA to prevent potential cross‑contamination.

Helps maintain a safe work environment by properly following the IIPP (Injury Illness Prevention Program).

Completes sanitation log records daily per QA directive.

Works closely with maintenance department to prevent water‑related damage in processing equipment.

Works closely with quality assurance in the execution of the pest control program.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Promote health and safety in the workplace.

Assists in maintaining plant in optimal sanitation condition.

Displays good work ethic, resourcefulness, and organization.

Reports immediately any malfunction issues, missing equipment parts, or damaged equipment during daily tasks.

Strictly follows the weekly working schedule provided by sanitation leadership.

Responsible for scheduled breaks in a timely manner as per company policy.

Leads by example in the use of proper uniform and work gear.

Ensures all sanitation records and formats are properly filled per QA guidelines.

Strictly executes the lock‑out/tag‑out program as per policy.

Performs proper equipment prep prior to wash‑down.

Assists sanitation leadership team in managing water consumption in plant, avoiding excess water.

Performs SSOP training manual for each piece of equipment and its daily execution.

Maintains peripheral areas of plant (restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms) in acceptable sanitary conditions.

Maintains the trash area outside the plant in proper sanitary conditions.

Leads by example in maintaining an exceptional GMP program.

Keeps chemical cage area always locked.

Maintains a solid attendance record.

Qualifications

Basic food handlers certification.

Basic knowledge of food manufacturing, processing and sanitation.

Ability to understand and effectively communicate the daily pre‑operational inspections and constant sanitation of plant.

Team‑player; can work in a team environment.

Capable of following directions.

Strong customer‑service commitment.

Can lift 30 lbs frequently and 40 lbs occasionally; stand, reach, climb, and lift frequently.

Can work with others and coordinate cross‑contamination prevention.

Works with minimum supervision.

Excellent attendance record; reliable and flexible for seasonal work.

Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Demands

Lifts continuously up to 25 lbs.

Lifts frequently up to 40 lbs and can exert up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Stands, walks, sits frequently.

Uses hands to finger, handle or feel continuously; reaches with hands and arms continuously.

Climbs or balances continuously; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls frequently.

Talks or hears continuously.

Works in extreme temperatures (85 °F to 35 °F) with exposure to water, chemicals, heat, and heavy noise.

Constant contact with water and chemicals (with proper gear).

High‑pressure hoses; hot sanitation water (150 °F).

Works near moving mechanical parts continuously; vibration frequently; moderate noise continuously.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Prepares reports and forms; reads documents and diagrams.

Writes sanitation records per QA guidelines.

Job Task Planning and Organizing

Prepares for any unexpected changes and reports deviations or unsafe environments to the supervisor.

Decision Making

Manages time efficiently; uses appropriate equipment; resolves problems efficiently.

Language Skills

Reads and interprets English documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

Writes routine reports and correspondence.

Spanish speaking a plus.
