Chez Margaux is Jean-Georges Management's first private membership club offering a bar, a restaurant with modern-French cuisine, a lounge with a Japanese-inspired menu, a caviar room, an after-dinner club, a library, private dining spaces and more. The Beverage Manager ensures excellence, creativity, brand promise, and profitability of the wine beverage program within the restaurant.
Compensation The base pay range is $100,000 per year. This range is provided by Jean-Georges Management; actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Senior leadership may discuss individual pay during the interview process.
Responsibilities
Supervise floor service with an emphasis on beverage sales and up-selling opportunities.
Maintain thorough knowledge of wine, sake, beer, spirits, cocktails, teas, sodas, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Attend all food and beverage training classes and ensure beverage changes are executed with proper communication and education.
Ensure POS, inventory, beverage lists, and related systems are understood and up to date.
Lead pre-shift meetings focusing on service standards, large parties, and PX guests.
Knowledge of current OSHA and ABC regulations.
Support the creative vision and focus of each business; oversee maintenance/cleanliness of decanters, wine stations, and beverage storage areas.
Promote updated knowledge of company policies and procedures; manage multiple activities and projects; enforce disciplinary actions as needed.
Ensure staff are trained and compliant with wine and liquor laws and company policies; operate ethically and protect the brand image.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing business demands; maintain flexible schedules as required.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience; experience in Private Membership Dining concepts is a plus.
Dynamic, social, outgoing, and self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication; immaculate execution and presentation skills; highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and coordinate multiple tasks including food, beverage, and labor cost management.
Advanced PC skills (Microsoft Word & Excel); strong proficiency with email and professional communication.
Professional demeanor; respectful interactions with guests and staff.
Ability to handle pressures of coordinating activities and developing solutions; flexible hours as needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential job functions safely and in compliance with relevant standards; lift up to 20 lbs; stand or sit for prolonged periods.
Frequent movement within the property; ability to bend, lift, reach, and climb stairs as required.
