Frank Beverage Group in Middleton, WI is now hiring a Sales Trainee. The Sales Trainee will learn sales processes by completing training assignments to prepare for future sales and sales relief representative roles and will be responsible for providing in-store support and merchandising for customers. This position will be responsible for training assignments, performing sales or sales relief responsibilities approximately 50% and merchandising 30%-50% of the time.

Merchandising (30%-50%)
Provides in-store support for off-premise accounts. Merchandises and stocks products at each account
Inventories and reorganizes back stocks, refills cold boxes, shelves, displays and dusts product, as needed
Follows quality assurance standards, monitors product codes and maintains ongoing product rotation on all date sensitive products
Provides retail customers with directions to wine/spirit/beer products with assistance from store personnel
Identifies and resolves routine problems at time of occurrence and communicates to appropriate parties and escalates to Manager when necessary
Works with the sales team to execute monthly display priorities in the retail channel
Maintains an inventory of current POS and coupons in vehicle and applies rebates and coupons to packages and displays
Assists in display reset projects, as needed
Builds displays, places, maintains, and updates in-store POS that meets company and supplier guidelines
Communicates proactively and frequently, reaching out to sales representatives and customers for clarification on product orders, displays, and customer needs.
Delivers hot shot orders to customer premises
Maintains positive relationships with accounts; proactively establishes contact and respectfully interacts with customers
Sales Trainee (50%)
Inputs and transmits orders, POS orders and route goal management using eoStar
Keeps up to date on customer credit status and is responsible for money collections on outstanding invoices
Introduces and sells new brands and packages
Conducts and tracks Internal and supplier surveys
Develops and maintains basic knowledge of product portfolio and promotions - including beer, wine & spirits
Interacts respectfully and maintains communication with team members intracompany departments (merchandisers and delivery drivers)
Learns area routes and runs sales routes when sales representatives are unavailable assisting with inventory management, submitting sales orders, answering questions about pricing and conducting surveys
Works on special projects, merchandises and works with other sales representative when route coverage is not needed
Learns sales process by completing training program and study assignments
Observes sales process by traveling with sales representatives, sales relief and sales managers, making regular scheduled sales calls
Learns the job roles and procedures by working with the sales support functions including category management and POS
Develops an understanding of cross functional roles and how the roles interact and impact each other by shadowing and participating in ride-along's with delivery, warehouse and customer service
Practices sales process by calling on existing accounts under supervision of sales representatives, adhering to established sales steps
Learns product and industry knowledge by reading industry publications, attending events and building professional networks
Completes study program and works toward attainment of liquor/wine/beer certifications – Cicerone, Certified Specialist Spirits (CSS) and Certified Specialist Wine (CSW).
Learns collections and customer credit procedures
Participates actively in training sessions and sales meetings

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required
Experience in related field (distribution, hospitality, supplier or beverage industry) preferred
Basic knowledge and understanding of company supplier portfolio and product lines, such as brands carried and packaging sizes
May need to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary
A valid driver's license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance is required
Required to be at least 18 years of age
Ability to acquire and maintain necessary liquor salespersons permit
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
Must be able to crouch, reach and grasp
Must be able to sit in a car for extended periods
Able to safely operate industry tools including pallet jack, power tools, box cutter and customer-specific equipment
