As a Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for all sales activities for the assigned strategic account sites in the Southern California region. You will build relationships with the technical team within the strategic account and cross‑functionally within the internal regional and global sales team. Active use of the CRM system to manage sales activities and customer interactions is a key enabler for achieving individual and team Sartorius sales targets.
What You Will Accomplish With Us
Promote Sartorius products and services within the assigned strategic account sites to achieve sales targets and gain market share.
Manage existing business and identify new business opportunities to suggest products/services aligned with Sartorius and customer market and growth strategy.
Actively use the CRM system to manage and document sales lifecycle activities, including leads, opportunities, customer interactions, and accurate forecasting of existing and future business.
Develop and implement a strategic account plan to achieve sales targets and request and coordinate resources.
Work closely with internal regional and global teams (Sales, FAS, SUTEs, PS, PMs, Quality) to create successful strategies to maintain existing business and gain new business.
Spend ~50% of time in the field to develop and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for all account-related inquiries and issues.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product offerings. Coordinate and participate in marketing activities (demos, product presentations, Sartorius day) in the strategic account.
What Will Convince Us
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred.
Based in Southern California within driving distance from Oceanside and San Diego.
3+ years of experience in commercial MABS, ADC upstream/downstream biopharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, process characterization, technology transfer, scale‑up, production or application support.
3+ years of field sales experience, with preferable laboratory/process-based manufacturing in Life Science.
Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiation skills.
Understanding of biological drug development and application processes within multiple modalities (MABS, ADCs, Cell and Gene therapies).
Hands‑on knowledge and proactive usage of SFDC and other CRM tools.
Travel Requirements – International and domestic travel will be required for training and commercial purposes, up to 30%.
