Employee Benefits Consultants partner with clients and assist them with emerging trends in employee benefits, their annual renewal process, and other possible options that would enhance or meet the goals of the client; the end product of this partnership is intended to add value to the client, enabling the client to be competitive in their own industry. Employee Benefits Consultants quickly assess the nature of any given problem, understand thoroughly the expectations of the client, and consistently meet or exceed those expectations. They must contribute to and flourish in a team environment, learn and exemplify Hub values, and engage in regular professional development. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Understand key business issues facing the client and the role employee benefits play in their business. Help client articulate their long term employee/benefit goals and develop a strategic plan to achieve them. Serve client as an educator or speaker on benefit topics to assist employees in being as effective as possible. Alert client to potential issues (legislative and coverage information). Provide and explain compliance package annually. Meet regularly with medical and ancillary carrier reps to get updates on the latest innovations and strategies; foster professional relationships with carrier reps and provide feedback on quotes. Address client problems and issues promptly; assess the nature of problems quickly and deliver viable solutions in a timely manner. Accurately record information from meetings and submit them in a timely manner. Strategically plan and execute plan renewals, staying in regular communication with clients and updating them on emerging trends and solutions; anticipate renewal concerns. Prepare for client visits by developing strategy based on planning meeting, timeline and prior visits; understand how information may impact the client. Provide accurate and timely client deliverables according to Performance Standards; review presentation material for errors and relevance; ensure follow-up issues are handled timely and communicated to the client. Build and maintain strong relationships with client HR and Benefits staff and upper management through regular communication. Keep team informed and communicate clearly with all team members regarding client issues, renewals, and proactive work; positively influence and promote engagement; ensure the team follows timelines. Ensure that implementation and transition processes for all carrier changes are handled smoothly with minimal disruption. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or Risk Management and Insurance preferred but not required 3-5 years’ experience in the insurance industry (Personal Lines preferred) including strong knowledge of self-insured plans, ancillary lines, and current legislation Tennessee Life and Health License Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and other Account Management Systems Demonstrate qualities to be a key member in a fast paced team environment Strong time management skills Superior customer service and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment Excellent written and verbal English communications skills required Department: Account Management & Service Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience Required Travel: Up to 25% Required Education: High school or equivalent HUB International Limited is an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the basis of race/ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or veteran\'s status, or any other characteristic protected by local, state or federal laws, rules or regulations.
