Project Accountant - Greater St. Louis Area

Project Accountant
to play a key role in project financial management, billing, and job costing for large-scale mechanical and general construction projects.
What You'll Do
Partner with project teams to manage the financial health of assigned jobs—tracking budgets, billings, costs, and projections.
Set up new projects and ensure all contracts, insurance, and compliance documentation are in place.
Prepare monthly invoices and progress billings with accuracy and timeliness to support healthy cash flow.
Review purchase orders, code vendor and subcontractor invoices, and assist with payment processing.
Monitor project budgets, assist with cost-to-complete reviews, and flag potential variances early.
Support month-end reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting functions as needed.
Provide exceptional communication and service to internal teams, clients, and vendors.
What You'll Bring
1-3 years of experience in accounting, billing, or job cost administration (construction experience a plus).
Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized while managing multiple projects.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills—someone who enjoys collaborating across departments.
Proficiency in Excel and general accounting software; experience with Vista/Viewpoint a bonus.
Self-starter mindset with curiosity to learn and grow within a dynamic company.
Ability to travel occasionally (up to 25%) for regional team collaboration or site visits.
