Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities
Process daily cash applications and ensure timely and accurate posting of payments.
Import and manage invoices from external billing systems.
Generate and distribute customer statements monthly or upon request.
Perform proactive collection efforts on delinquent accounts while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Investigate and resolve customer billing discrepancies.
Guide customers through our online application and onboarding process.
Conduct credit inquiries and apply internal credit policies to assess and approve credit limits.
Set up new customer accounts, ensuring accurate tax code configurations in collaboration with the accounting team.
Manage credit for large accounts, including maintaining compliance by updating external credit insurance providers on Tier 2 and listed accounts.
Collaborate with management to provide regular updates on AR performance and to escalate any collection concerns.
Prepare and remit sales tax returns and oversee the proper maintenance of sales tax documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) with at least 2 years of experience, or a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
Experience with QuickBooks and/or Sage 100 is strongly preferred.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
