HR Generalist (Contract / Temporary)
The HR Generalist will support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function within a
100-person services company . This is a
contract / temporary position based in Phoenix, AZ , with an expected duration of
1–3 months .
The role is responsible for administering HR policies and procedures, supporting employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, compliance, and performance management. The HR Generalist serves as a key liaison between the division and corporate HR, ensuring alignment with company-wide initiatives while addressing the unique needs of the business unit.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers, addressing day-to-day HR inquiries and providing guidance on HR-related matters.
Lead full-cycle recruitment processes including job postings, candidate communication, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
Assist in the creation, rollout, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures in line with organizational goals and regulatory compliance.
Support employee relations initiatives such as investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws by keeping HR practices current and legally sound.
Partner with the Corporate Learning & Development team to coordinate employee training and growth opportunities.
Manage and update employee records within the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Prepare and file Certified Payroll reports in accordance with legal and contractual guidelines.
Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure seamless, accurate HR operations.
Engage in divisional and company-wide HR projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and support business goals.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a multi-site or divisional organization.
Hands‑on experience with Certified Payroll reporting (mandatory).
Strong understanding of employment law and human resources best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred
Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
