Truck Driver CDL A Regional – Ryder System, Inc. Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver in Shelbyville, KY. Join our team of dedicated, professional drivers who are part of a supportive and family‑focused organization.

Position Description As a Solo driver, you will be responsible for all aspects of truck operations, including safe driving, loading/unloading freight, and maintaining accurate logs. No team‑behind‑the‑truck support is required—your knowledge and experience will keep you on schedule and in compliance with all transportation regulations.

Pay & Schedule

Base Pay: $2,100 + per week

Hours: 50+ hours per week

Pay per mile: $0.61 with 2,400–2,800 miles weekly

Drop & Hook Pay: $15.00 per drop/hook

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, Monday‑Friday, or Tuesday‑Saturday; Shift start 2:00 AM‑8:00 AM

2–5 nights per week (varies with route)

Paid training and training allowance provided

Route & Equipment

Geographic Coverage: IN, TN, OH, MS, SC, WI, VA, IL, MI, GA, PA

Route Type: Regional

Tractor: Sleeper

Trailers: Open Top Containers, Flatbed, Conestoga 48' & 53’

Freight: No‑Touch Aluminum

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age

Class A CDL with required endorsements

Pass a Ryder drug test, background and motor‑vehicle check, DOT physical, and Ryder road test

Experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years driving a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle

Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions; read, interpret, and apply laws, regulations, and company policies

Additional screening may be required at the customer level

Responsibilities

Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and agency rules

Detect and eliminate safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs

Load/unload freight or assist as required by the customer

Perform other duties as assigned
