Compensation The base hourly rate for this position is $27.31.
Position Overview Pay: $27.31 hourly – Full Time. Shift: 1st Shift 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday. This position communicates and supports JM core values and delivers the JM experience.
The Warehouse Lead coordinates and manages assigned resources and employees to provide high‑quality service safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include overseeing the flow of all materials into the warehouse, inventories, and customer order flow to ensure seamless delivery without quality or service failures.
Responsibilities
Perform shipping/receiving coordinator duties.
Manage plant recycling program.
Ensure 100% compliance with all HAZMAT shipments, proper labeling, Bill of Lading compliance, documentation and record keeping.
Accurately maintain inventory, including cycle counts, physical locations, and production/quality goods movements.
Develop efficient physical layout plans to maximize warehouse storage space.
Use SAP and other business procedures for inventory control, shipping documents and receiving.
Load outbound trucks accurately to achieve 100% Perfect Order Delivery (POD).
Unload and put away inbound trucks with 100% accuracy.
Plan and schedule work to maximize productivity using labor, materials, and equipment.
Communicate effectively with employees and plant leadership to meet special service and customer requirements.
Handle customer service requests and changes as approved.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Analyze key operating metrics related to service, shipping, and on‑time delivery.
Communicate and enforce plant policies and procedures.
Conduct and document training for hourly personnel.
Promote safety initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
Prepare labor, material, and equipment usage reports.
Conduct daily/weekly/monthly shift meetings with crew.
Maintain good housekeeping in warehouse areas.
Prepare and follow Job Safety Analyses, use safe work practices, and report hazardous conditions.
Wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
Follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies.
Leadership Responsibilities
Supervise warehouse personnel and interact with all plant department employees.
Lead pre‑shift huddles.
Oversee and coach employees.
Assist with setting daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
Requirements
High School Diploma.
2–10 years of shipping/warehouse experience with demonstrated supervisory experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and handle multiple priorities and projects.
Basic working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and database programs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Manual lift, push or pull of at least 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, sensing).
Work safely in a fast‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Work in a dusty environment with a broad temperature range.
Work a 12‑hour (or 8‑hour) rotating shift schedule.
Flexibility to bend, stoop or kneel repeatedly.
Reach or work above the shoulder.
