Responsibilities
Prepare and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party carriers in a timely and accurate manner
Research and apply new and changing regulations to maximize reimbursement and ensure compliance
Educate hospital personnel on billing regulations and their impact on reimbursement
Conduct comprehensive follow-up with payers on timely reimbursements for accounts
Maintain confidentiality and handle restricted information from various sources within the medical center
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare or accounting setting
Completion of medical coding and/or billing course(s) is a plus
3-5 years of related experience in healthcare or accounting preferred
1-3 years of direct experience involving claims, insurance, or patient accounting preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a healthcare billing or medical coding role
Familiarity with federal and third-party payer regulations
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
