About the Opportunity An established infrastructure and energy services company is seeking a Construction Project Accountant to support its large-scale operations across Texas. This role plays a key part in managing project financials, ensuring accurate reporting, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to drive operational efficiency.

You’ll work closely with operations, engineering, and corporate finance to oversee project costs, asset capitalization, and month‑end close processes, perfect for someone who enjoys being the bridge between accounting and the field.

What You’ll Do

Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts tied to construction and plant operations.

Track capital and expense projects to ensure proper classification and timely capitalization.

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and variance analyses during monthly close.

Monitor project and plant costs (labor, materials, fuel) and provide insight to management.

Support budgeting and forecasting for project and operational spend.

Partner with operations and engineering to validate financial data and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal control standards; assist with audits.

Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA a plus).

4+ years of accounting experience in construction, utilities, manufacturing, or energy.

Solid understanding of cost and asset accounting.

Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred).

Excellent analytical and communication skills, able to collaborate across departments.
