Job Title
Payroll Tax Specialist
Location Westlake, On‑site (Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM)
Duration 6 Months (No immediate plans for extension or conversion)
About the Role Join our dynamic HR team dedicated to delivering an exceptional employee experience and driving superior company performance. As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll tax operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support audits, system testing, and process improvements—all while maintaining a seamless experience for employees.
Key Responsibilities
Perform monthly reconciliation of payroll tax reporting and multi‑state withholdings.
Research and resolve tax issues and notices; manage tax notice documentation in ADP.
Process tax notice payments and ADP invoices promptly.
Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Respond to Tier 2 HR Service Tickets and employee inquiries.
Assist with quarterly and year‑end reconciliation and W‑2C/amendment filings.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
Update and create payroll tax processes and procedures.
Participate in Workday system upgrades and testing.
Create and manage employer online access accounts for state tax agencies.
Contribute to special projects and serve as a backup for team members.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience in payroll tax filings and regulatory compliance.
Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field (preferred).
Experience with payroll software and data querying tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (v‑lookups, pivot tables, formulas); MS Access is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong partnerships.
Demonstrated ability to innovate and improve processes for efficiency and productivity.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.50/hr.
