Job Description Health & Safety Specialist
will participate in the develop and maintain The Environmental a comprehensive facility, perform EHS inspections, health, and-safety program for the investigate accidents, develop environmental, resources, and perform related tasks as assigned. The EHS Specialist will and provide safety training and related Standards related to environmental help ensure conformity to applicable federal, state, and local compliance and and safety (i.e. OSHA, EPA, DOT, State, etc.). 1. Manage / Support EHS Insight Reporting and Data Analysis
EHS Insight IT support
SDS Updates
Minor Injury Investigation/follow-up
Facilitate Event & iCare corrective actions, tracked to closer
New Employee set-up/removal of employees who have left the company
2. Training Development/ revision
3. Safety Inspections & Walk-abouts
First Aid kits- inventory management
Chemical Inventory & Compliance Inspections
Investigate safety events
Support / Train / Enforce compliance with all written EHS programs
Move / label drums/containers for shipment
Solvent storage container management
DOT training needed
HAZWOPER training required
Weekly wastewater pH probe calibration, monthly DMR reports, support of semi-annual samples by City of Spokane
Semi-annual SW inspections
Monthly generator hours (air permit)
Support Pollution Prevention / Waste Minimizations & Sustainability
Support / Manage SPCC
EPCRA Reporting
6. Health Management
Facilitate First Aid / CPR training
Wildfire Smoke monitoring & compliance
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or related scientific field required.
Minimum 1 year of related experience required.
Advanced Vocational/Specialized Knowledge required.
Experience in Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint required.
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted required
Exposure to allergens and working in aseptic areas required
Pushing, pulling, twisting and prolonged sitting and standing required
Shift:
Weekday Days, Monday-Friday
This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.
Hiring Wage:
$35.65 – $48.23 hr. depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
