at the University of Florida (UF) – a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position in the Department of Physics. Location: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL). Job Description

We seek highly qualified candidates from experimental condensed matter in quantum sciences with a focus on, but not limited to, quantum materials and quantum sensing. UF Physics Department has a broad range of research activities focused on quantum materials and measurements, complemented by support from a strong condensed matter theory group and the Quantum Theory Project (QTP). Modern laboratory space and competitive start-up funds will be provided. Available resources include machine and electronics shops with experienced technicians and a state-of-the-art helium recovery facility. Relevant campus facilities include the Cleanroom Fabrication Facilities in the UF Nanoscale Research Facility and the UF HiPerGator supercomputer cluster. Strong research opportunities exist through the affiliated National High Magnetic Field Laboratory High B/T Facility, collaborations with faculty in other UF departments, and a major university-scale Artificial Intelligence initiative. UF is Florida’s oldest, largest, and most comprehensive university, located in Gainesville, a city of about 350,000 residents in North-Central Florida. Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Physics or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant postdoctoral research experience is preferred. Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body, while establishing a well-recognized research program, is essential.
