Collateral Auditor
to join a collaborative team focused on ensuring asset quality, regulatory compliance, and operational integrity across the organization’s pledged loan portfolio. Purpose of the Role
The Collateral Auditor will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and verifying loan assets pledged as collateral to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the safety, soundness, and transparency of collateral reporting while supporting continuous improvement in risk management practices. Key Responsibilities
Review and validate pledged collateral, including Commercial Real Estate (CRE), multifamily, agricultural, and 1–4 family loans. Ensure pledged assets meet eligibility and documentation standards as defined by internal and regulatory guidelines. Conduct detailed reviews of collateral reporting for completeness, accuracy, and consistency. Prepare comprehensive audit reports summarizing findings, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions. Collaborate with credit, lending, and risk teams to resolve discrepancies or deficiencies identified during audits. Perform on-site and remote audits of member institutions or custodians to ensure compliance with collateral management policies. Assist in developing and refining audit procedures, tools, and methodologies to improve audit efficiency and quality. Support special projects related to collateral systems, data integrity, or regulatory initiatives as assigned. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 1–3 years of experience in collateral review, credit risk, audit, or financial analysis within a banking or financial services environment. Strong understanding of collateral valuation, loan documentation, and credit risk concepts. Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to management. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and related data analysis tools (Access or Tableau a plus). Ability to travel occasionally for on-site reviews.
