Purpose of the Role
The Senior Commercial Risk Review Auditor will be responsible for reviewing loan assets pledged as collateral, ensuring policies are adhered to, and focusing heavily on
Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loans . This role will provide critical oversight of collateral quality and compliance while delivering insights and recommendations to leadership. Key Responsibilities
Review pledged collateral (including CRE, multifamily, 1–4 family, home equity, and agricultural loans) to ensure eligibility, quality, and compliance. Conduct detailed evaluations of members with high CRE concentrations, large borrowers, or heightened risk profiles. Prepare reports outlining findings, interpret audit results, and recommend improvements to management. Perform financial analysis of collateral reporting to ensure accuracy and transparency. Develop and maintain standards for pledging CRE assets across the district. Engage directly with member institutions’ management to prepare for audits, present results, and ensure understanding of findings. Train and mentor field auditors in CRE lending best practices and audit methodology. Conduct onsite audits of third-party custodians to ensure compliance, security, and soundness of document custody. Assist with complex, one-off reviews of large single-loan pledges or special projects as assigned. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of experience within a financial institution in lending, credit, financial analysis, or audit. Strong knowledge of Commercial Real Estate lending. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Access and Adobe Acrobat a plus). Willingness to travel overnight High level of integrity and ability to work independently. About JCW
