Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for fingerprints and/or palm prints on all incoming offenders, ensuring the data cards are complete and accurate; taking anatomical measurements and noting distinguishing characteristics such as scars, birthmarks, and tattoos; maintaining offender backup cards and related identification cards. Interviews and photographs arriving offenders to obtain and enter information necessary for the identification process; creating identification cards for each offender; checking for enemies of offenders and completing Enemy Waiver Forms and other necessary forms. Obtain DNA samples from offenders using the Missouri Highway Patrol DNA collection kit. Provide fingerprint records and photos to the FBI, Missouri Highway Patrol, and other law enforcement agencies as needed. Assist Correctional Officers in reception unit with supervision of offenders. Observe offender behavior and activities to prevent contraband, theft, disorderly conduct, and violations of regulations, and report any unusual activities. Serve as contact person for the Missouri Highway Patrol Criminal Records Division and support equipment functionality issues. Exercise independence in the performance of duties under general supervision. Perform other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
One or more years of experience as a Correctional Officer, Police Officer, Military Police Officer, private security officer, or other related correctional or law enforcement experience; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalence.
OR
Two or more years of experience, including one or more years of complex office experience involving the recording and filing of criminal records or related criminal identification work; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalence.

Additional Compensation:
A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00 PM (noon) and 5:00 AM and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrictive housing/segregation unit at any facility.
