Job Responsibilities
Install and upgrade network devices and components, including switches, routers, and network monitoring devices.
Provide operational support and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environments.
Maintain knowledge of Ethernet and IP data engineering with at least 4 years of experience as a Network Technician.
Coordinate project activities and manage maintenance and network outages.
Apply fundamentals of the OSI Model.
Configure and troubleshoot network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
Work with wireless technologies, VPN, IPS, WAN accelerators, and associated technologies.
Handle outage and maintenance tickets servicing more than 20,000 users across 12+ sites, performing onsite and remote troubleshooting for layer 1‑3 issues.
Install hardware such as routers, switches, McAfee intrusion prevention systems, Aruba wireless controllers, and Riverbed Steelhead WANX devices.
Perform LAN/WAN outage recovery.
Troubleshoot outages and resolve network‑related issues.
Re‑key and troubleshoot TACLANES for COMSEC.
Follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures, perform escalations and additional tasks as directed.
Investigate, document, and report incidents in the Incident Management System.
Qualifications and Skills
Secret Security Clearance (upgradeable to Top Secret).
Cisco CCNA and Security+ certification required.
At least 4 years of experience as a Network Technician.
Strong project coordination skills to manage maintenance activities and network outages.
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities with servers and Cisco devices.
Passion for excellence and continual improvement, entrepreneurial spirit, innovative thinking in a fast‑paced environment.
Knowledge of wireless technologies, VPN, IPS, WAN accelerators is highly desirable.
Understanding of OSI model and network protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
