Global Financial Crimes Investigator – Consumer

We are looking for an investigator who will perform end‑to‑end investigations of external financial crimes activities across one or more lines of business. You will conduct routine to complex investigations, including fraud committed by external parties, money laundering, or terrorist financing, and act as the primary liaison to law enforcement as required.
Responsibilities
Complete investigations ensuring cases meet or exceed closure and quality metrics.
File Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in a timely and accurate manner for regulators and law enforcement.
Report investigation facts to senior stakeholders, identify potential operational or compliance risks, and partner with Global Financial Crimes Management and front‑line units to resolve investigations.
Perform quality‑control functions, training, communications, and monitoring scenario development, including law‑enforcement liaison responsibilities.
Prioritize a significant case inventory based on risk and management direction while adhering to service‑level agreements.
Perform research and analysis of transaction information, customer data, public records, and external research tools to determine if activity aligns with client type.
Communicate with management, front‑line units, and law‑enforcement to obtain additional information necessary to resolve cases.
Recommend appropriate follow‑up, possible account closure for customers that exceed the bank’s risk tolerance, and escalated potential compliance risks.
Required Experience
At least 3 years’ experience in AML, risk, or compliance, with a minimum of 1 year in external financial crimes investigations or a related field.
Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and anti‑money laundering regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics.
Desired Experience
Additional technical or functional experience in the financial services industry.
Certifications such as ACAMS.
FINRA licenses (SIE, Series 7, Series 4, Series 24) and experience working with law‑enforcement, preferably in multiple languages (Spanish, Russian, Chinese/Mandarin, Farsi).
