Position Summary The Lead Commercial Strategy Advisor will drive the development and execution of high-impact commercial priorities, optimization strategies, and asset plans across Natural Gas, NGLs, Petchems, and/or Power and data. Leveraging advanced analytical tools, deep market insights, and enterprise-wide coordination, this position will identify and lead strategic optimization initiatives, evaluate capital trade-offs, and shape portfolio decisions that enhance long‑term value. This role requires strong leadership in cross‑functional collaboration with trading, marketing, operations, logistics, and corporate strategy teams to ensure alignment of value‑chain flows and infrastructure planning with enterprise objectives. This role will serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, influencing investment decisions and guiding commercial transformation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Identifies and leads logistics cost reduction efforts and strategic placement efforts for MPC production.
Considered a company/industry experienced expert and manages advanced level commercial relationships with third party logistic service providers, including negotiation of renewals or new contracts.
Conducts, leads, identifies and guides teams and initiatives around detailed industry and company specific organic growth opportunities as well as potential acquisitions, mergers, or divestments. Can facilitate the development of strategy around a group of assets.
Consistently acts in leadership form to guide and perform economic evaluation and intermediate financial modeling & analysis to identify value creation opportunities that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
Consistently acts in leadership form to lead collaboration and serves as liaison between multiple internal stakeholders including but not limited to Business Development, Services Development, MPLX, RVCO, Trading, Scheduling, and Marketing to understand business needs, identify constraints and opportunities, discuss local and regional economic drivers, and propose solutions.
Leads cross‑functional projects encompassing idea generation, development of business cases, development of options around the scope of the project and, at the appropriate time, handoff for execution by the function. May co‑lead significant project execution.
Consistently and effectively communicates opportunities, plans, and strategies to internal stakeholders using multiple platforms or mediums. Has the ability to adjust the level of detail as appropriate to the respective audience. Has the poise and ability to present to the executive leadership team directly.
Demonstrates an advanced understanding of refining, midstream, marketing, and logistics operations as well as economic value contribution.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
Ten (10) or more years of Commercial, Strategy, or other related experience required.
