The salary is $40,000. The Department anticipates continued employment, with the possibility of promotion to Senior Lecturer. Lecturers have primary responsibilities in teaching and secondary responsibilities in service and instructional leadership. The expected teaching load is 4/4; assignments typically include first‑year composition, with departmental needs determining the courses taught each semester. Spring Semester 2026 will include online and in‑person instruction opportunities. Lecturers are normally eligible for summer teaching, if available. Responsibilities

Lecturers will primarily teach a 4/4 load of first‑year composition courses, including online and in‑person instruction for spring 2026. Secondary responsibilities include service and instructional leadership, and summer teaching is normally available if offered. Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in English or a related field at the time of appointment Record of successful teaching in first‑year composition and literature or professional writing Strong potential as a colleague in the Department of English Eligibility to work in the United States and continue employment legally for the term of employment Excellent communication skills Desired Qualifications

PhD or other terminal degree in English or a related field Established and highly successful record of teaching composition and other applicable courses at the college or university level Experience working in the context of a writing program, including collaboration with other teachers in a leadership or advisory capacity Demonstrated ability to engage with innovative learning technologies and/or online pedagogies Graduate coursework or scholarship in writing studies or literature Relevant service at the department, college, or university level Application Instructions
