Overview
Fire-Stopping Inspector – Samsung FAB-1 Taylor TX. Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Fire-Stopping Inspector to support the Samsung FAB-1 project in Taylor, Texas. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.
What you’ll do
Shift/Schedule: 8 hours/day, 7 am to 4 pm; OT may be required if approved by client.
Review documents to verify UL system materials and installation are compliant with manufacturer requirements and approved construction documents.
Conduct visual and destructive testing.
Provide a specific inspection report for each inspection according to the approved reporting method and means for the Samsung project.
Work utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
Use established methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
Make detailed observations, provide limited interpretation, and document data from test results.
Communicate effectively with the client and project teams.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
3 years' experience in the construction industry
2 years as firestopping inspector, with ability to review UL systems and engineering judgments for the fire-stopping assembly
IFC or ICC Fire-Stopping Inspector certification or ability to obtain immediately
OSHA 10 certification
Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record
Effective communication skills (written, verbal, listening) and solid interpersonal skills
Basic math, calculator, and computer skills
Ability to read and understand work plans
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
Physical ability to lift/move/push/pull 30–50 pounds frequently; may exceed 50 pounds with assistance
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to discern sound
Ability to kneel, squat occasionally; walk and stand for long periods
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; hot or cold
Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights
Ability to work overnight hours and off shift
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
IFC or ICC Fire-Stopping Inspector certification
