Position We are seeking a compassionate, student-centered Health Teacher who is committed to building strong relationships, designing engaging and inclusive learning experiences, and supporting the growth and well-being of every student.

Position Overview
Plan and deliver instruction using approved curriculum, high-impact strategies, and data-driven decision-making
Establish and maintain expectations, routines, and procedures that promote a respectful, safe, and positive learning environment
Engage students through varied instructional methods to meet individual learning goals
Set ambitious goals and use data to monitor progress, guide instruction, and provide timely feedback to students, families, and stakeholders
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance overall district effectiveness
Engage in professional reflection and growth to improve instructional practice and student outcomes
Support and model professionalism, effective communication, and leadership in all aspects of teaching
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required; Master’s preferred
Maine Department of Education certification with Health Educator endorsement required (conditional certification considered)
U.S. citizenship, residency, or valid work visa required
Anticipated Class Load:
Health 1
Additional Information Reasonable Accommodations RSU 21 provides accommodations for individuals with disabilities as defined by the ADA or applicable law, unless doing so would cause undue hardship.
Terms Of Employment Compensation and work year are established by the Board in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in alignment with the Board of School Directors’ policy on Evaluation of Certified Staff Members (GCOA).
This position will remain open until a qualified candidate is selected.
