At Two Twelve, we believe in the motto: “Good Design for the Public Good.” Since 1980, our wayfinding solutions have provided accessible information to people of all demographics, making it easier to navigate complex places. We design public signage systems that are logical, intuitive, and culturally attuned to their contexts, ensuring consistent and accurate information for better movement in spaces. As a minority- and woman-owned agency based in New York City and Honolulu, we are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in every aspect of our work. Responsibilities
Work with the Creative Director and Senior Designer to develop wayfinding strategies and to design sign systems and environmental graphics Participate with team members, clients, and design consultants to create detailed designs from concept to completion Develop and maintain sign location plans, message schedules, signage graphic layouts, and design drawings for multiple projects Research and compile materials, fabrication processes, and ADA / Building Code requirements when needed Assist in preparing client presentations, attend project meetings, prepare detailed meeting notes Assist in reviewing fabrication shop drawings, samples, and prototypes, field reports, punchlist Participate in site audits, stakeholder workshops, and signage installation reviews Expand and develop skill sets that support the studio’s work and agenda in innovative ways Travel for project meetings, fabrication, and installation review when required Assist the Marketing Team in the development of social media content Qualifications
4-year college degree (preferably a BFA in Graphic Design, industrial design, or interior architecture) 3+ years of work experience in a graphic design studio, min. 1+ years, specifically in experiential / signage and wayfinding, is a big plus Portfolio demonstrating a strong design sensibility, typographic skills, three dimensional form A high level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Google Docs Workspace workflow. Knowledge of CADTools, Sign Agent, SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, or Revit are a plus Personality Traits
Enjoys working collaboratively with other designers and independently Has an open, curious, and positive personality with a strong desire for continued learning and skills development Enjoys independent problem-solving and can manage multiple projects and deadlines, and shifting priorities Can think conceptually and ideate/iterate solutions for design problems Is detail-oriented and possesses a high level of organizational skills Benefits
