RESPONSIBILITIES PURPOSE OF JOB:

To serve as a primary point of contact for all Tier I technology support-related issues for the Department of Technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide exceptional customer service in a proactive manner for all KCPS staff and students.

Tier 1 technology Support representative for Department of Technology.

Train and assist users in the proper use of district technology resources.

Provide technical support for students and staff on hardware, software, and web-based resources.

Communicate effectively with staff and students regarding technology information.

Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot malfunction of Chromebooks, Apple devices, Windows laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, barcode readers, digital cameras, Interactive Screens, and other technology tools.

Maintain current operating system, updates and software deployments using current management system or other automated deployment technologies.

Research and implement preventative maintenance procedures for district technology devices.

Provide technology support to new teachers and existing staff, students, and administrative teams.

Assist users with questions about employee websites and other technology resources.

Conduct and maintain inventory of technology equipment using current inventory management tool.

Collaborate with the Digital Learning Team in supporting the effective use of technology in the classroom.

Train users how to properly use the ticketing system to create, monitor, and close incident tickets.

Travel in district when required to provide services and deliver or pick up technology equipment as needed per user request or other business needs.

Coordinate the beginning year student device deployment.

Coordinate the end of year student device collection.

Participate in special technology projects as required.

Phone installation and basic troubleshooting processes.

Basic troubleshooting skills for IT issues such as computer hardware, software, and networking issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent

Basic understanding of IT systems and building infrastructure.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Minimum of 1 year of experience software, hardware troubleshooting skills

Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with desktops, laptops, and other common peripheral devices

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to educate others on new software, hardware, policies, and procedures.

Ability to lift 40lbs up to a height of 4 feet.

Current driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel in district (mileage reimbursement provided)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of ITIL processes and Service Management tools.

Experience with large-scale computer deployments and collection.

Certification in current Microsoft Windows version

Minimum of 1 year of knowledge and experience with hardware warranty procedures.

Basic troubleshooting skills for IT issues such as computer hardware, software, and networking problems.

Familiarity with routine maintenance tasks for building systems.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Length of work year: 12 months, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week; 260 work days
