Pay:

$20.00 – $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday business hours with flexibility; five (8‑hour) shifts per week. Start times 8:00–10:00 am and 4:00–7:00 pm as needed.

General Purpose The Community Case Manager provides services to shelter residents and community clients. They support survivors with safety/action plans to achieve self‑sufficiency and independence, working collaboratively with SVS staff and community service providers to connect survivors to resources.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain regular and reliable attendance; arrive on time for scheduled shifts to provide required client services.

Provide case‑management services: initial needs assessment, advocacy, development of safety and action plans, referrals, and assistance in identifying barriers and resources.

Keep detailed, accurate, and timely case‑management notes in compliance with the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act, Victims of Crime Act, and Violence Against Women Act confidentiality mandates.

Build professional relationships with community partners to enhance referral processes and resource access.

Educate clients on housing programs, gather eligibility documentation, and guide them on housing rights.

Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements to protect children’s safety and well‑being.

Attend weekly residential and case‑management meetings to collaborate with shelter and clinical teams on client safety/progress and departmental goals.

Promote SVS’s strategic imperative of a 360‑degree, trauma‑informed organization.

Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of all client and SVS information.

Maintain professional ethical standards and appropriate boundaries with clients, employees, volunteers, donors, and vendors.

Perform CPR and administer First Aid as needed.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

Attend required training as assigned.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of one year experience in social work/services in the field of domestic violence, and/or experience working with families in crisis.

Complete 40 hours of core advocacy training with the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition within the first year of employment.

Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect.

Collaborate effectively with SVS staff, community partners, and clients.

Communicate professionally and fluently in English.

Work independently at community sites and remotely with minimal supervision.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including caseload management.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Maintain active Direct Access Clearance System (DACS) Criminal Background Check.

Obtain First Aid and CPR Certification within the first 30 days of employment and recertify biennially.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, or current junior/senior college student in social work, behavioral science, or a closely related field.

2+ years’ experience working with the public.

Bilingual English/Spanish speaker.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands The Community Case Manager works in office environments at the CRC and the Sanctuary and at multiple locations serving shelter residents and community clients throughout Salt Lake County. Travel to various sites is required.
