Program Coordinator - McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics
role at UTHealth Houston. We are hiring immediately to support the Syed Lab in the McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics, Houston, TX, offering assistance with the overall design, execution & management of public education, course support and outreach programs.
Position Summary Provides overall design, execution, management, and effectiveness of public education and/or outreach programs to meet assigned goals and objectives.
Key Accountabilities
Coordinates, develops, implements, and evaluates the delivery system for education and outreach programs in targeted communities.
Participates in all phases of projects and in research related activities, including assessing regional needs for program education and developing regional outreach plans.
Researches and analyzes data pertaining to education, and attends functions to keep abreast of relevant scientific and technical developments.
Communicates with community and healthcare professionals, writes articles for newsletters and other publications, prepares oral presentations, and acts as a liaison with institutional agents.
Uses program databases to collect evaluation data; writes program reports and case studies; submits abstracts to professional meetings.
Maintains current technical and regulatory environment information concerning relevant developments.
Interacts extensively with the public and external organizations to facilitate programs and participates in national and regional task forces and work groups.
Ensures compliance with federal, state laws and UTHSC-H policies, rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Certification & Skills Knowledge of MS Office, SPSS or statistics software applications.
Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience Three years of related experience. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum requirement.
Physical Requirements Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive
Position is security-sensitive pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and related statutes.
Requires access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code.
Personnel will be reviewed for security integrity and may require background checks.
Residency Requirement Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
